Night Beach

The Ocean Trilogy began as conceived, three albums of moods reflecting life around the water. Producer Gabriel Gundacker assembled a small group of players to accompany in the recording of his compositions. Musically the material occupies Nu-Jazz / Modern Exotica with colorful accents of City Pop.

Recorded over 2 weeks in Los Angeles the agenda was to find the spirit of each album thru its corresponding title. That process guided the musician's style of play, informed how Gundacker composed each piece, chose instrumentation, and with those elements the tone of the album is set.

Lastly you'll notice all three album covers are a panoramic triptych illustration set from the interior view of a car. Each cover has a individual perspective - Ocean Sounds view is from the exterior of the car, Coastal Cruising from the driver side, and Night Beach from the passenger side.
